“… an instant connection
all that affection
that started at conception
has been cut shortthe cord has been cut
the conversation door’s been shut
where there was in the womb or not
now there’s just… silence……the conversation stopped
with someone who lived
someone you knew
someone who was growing inside of you…
…someone is no longer talking back to you…”
The above excerpt is from a spoken word poem by Saying Goodbye. You can watch it here:

And from the STILL Project, a trailer of a film they are making.
“STILL is a feature length documentary film project aimed at breaking the cycle of silence surrounding pregnancy and infant loss. STILL will examine the effects of a grief avoidant society and will educate through organic experience.”

I’m moved by the first film and excited about the second.

Thank you so much for sharing Lauren. I hadn’t seen the spoken word poem, but we attended the Saying Goodbye service at St Paul’s Cathedral last year at it was very moving and healing. That organization is doing some great work and deserves to be highlighted publicly.

Sadie, I am a bit envious that you were able to attend. I’m glad you found it healing. Haven’t visited your blog in a few days (frantically trying to catch up with schoolwork and work-work) so wonder if you have written about that experience? Big love, honey xx
Sadie says
It was indeed a wonderful experience; we had never been able to mark anything ceremonially or officially, so even after all this time it felt very important to have that public recognition, and to be surrounded by people who understood and shared our experience. I have not written about it on my blog, but I would be happy to discuss it more with you if you want to drop me an email (on the sidebar of my blog). Sending you love.
